Turn Defeat Into Victory

A pastor, after he graduated from college, said his blindness was an asset. “It will keep me from alienating a person because of how he or she looks.”

What a lovely example of how a what could have caused someone to be bitter and defeated used a “situation” to reframe it as a unique gift.

There really are no defeats—they are, instead, educational moments—a chance to take feedback and improve.

Ambitious people approach life with admirable persistence. A dear friend of mine who has legendary success in business says that after a failure, he gives himself no more than one hour to feel sorry for himself. He consciously decides that he can not be discouraged. How can you turn today’s defeat into a victory?
