What did YOU do on “Thank God it’s Monday” Day?

Friday, January 14th, 2011

What did you do last Monday—the very first Monday of 2011? If you were like a gazillion other people around the world, you headed back to work with bloodshot eyes, six extra pounds under the belt, and pure eggnog in your veins.

Thank God it’s Monday!™ You know the guy… he aced every test, answered every question correctly. The all-around classroom standout. You’ve fallen out of touch with him since high school graduation, but given his academic record, you’re convinced he’s a billionaire somewhere.

It’s possible, but it’s just as likely that you’re wrong. In fact, a nationwide study found that people of below average intelligence were, overall, just as wealthy as those with higher IQs.

So what does this mean? You’re smart enough! Achieving monetary success is not simply a product of the brain. Moreover, you control your success.

Look at your latest paycheck–the number you’re looking at is a direct reflection of what you think you’re worth, because if it wasn’t, you would change it. Things like, how badly you want it, persistence, and outside support, dramatically affect success.

Don’t limit yourself. Never assume you know less. You have the ability to make it, but only as far as YOU BELIEVE you can go, and you commit to deliver massive results!

Have a great Monday!

The Eye of the Tornado

Thank God it’s Monday!™ A study by the American Psychological Association found that 62 percent of Americans claim that work has a significant impact on stress levels. Imagine that—62 percent of people walking around in an environment they find stressful.

That’s a little crazy. Life’s too short to feel that way! So change things. Now I’m not suggesting that you quit your job and go relax on the beach for the rest of your life. Choose instead against stress.

So the task pawned off on you that seems impossible… why stress? Choose to see it as an opportunity and step up! So you have 35 phone calls to make in 35 minutes… why not do it with joy? It’s time to blow them away.

How accomplished will you feel after the fact?

Attitude is a choice. Stress is a choice. Choose to live in the zone and decide to live comfortably in the eye of the tornado.

Have a great Monday!

Welcome Mr. Criticism

Monday, December 6th, 2010

Thank God it’s Monday!™ Our good old friend Mr. Criticism. Who hasn’t run into him before?

Sure, we take it from our kids as they give us a hard time around the dinner table. But how do we handle criticism in the workplace?

For starters, you can’t let it bother you. Some critics are critical simply because they’re jealous. Some are bitter. And some are having an awful day. But every so often you’ll find a genuine critic in the best sense of the word—and it is to these critics that you must open your ears.

What an opportunity! Find some truth in what they have to say, and you can grow. Now sometimes it’s complete rubbish. But there is usually at least 1 percent of what they have to say that could be helpful if you took it in.

You’ll know what criticism is worth listening to. Just stay strong and evaluate their words honestly, and apply changes.

Have a great Monday!

Change Your Perception

Monday, October 18th, 2010

* Transcription

Thank God it’s Monday!™ The very thought drives you crazy—your neighbor buys a new shiny motorcycle, and suddenly the kids don’t think your dirt bike is quite as appealing. You’ve spent months looking for the right home—and when you finally find it, it’s off the market. You’re frantically running out the door, late for a meeting, only to find that you’ve left the lights on—and the car battery is dead!

Life is all about unforeseen experience—some good, and some bad.

But who has the power to make this assessment, casually labeling and sorting life into two simple categories, changing perception and understanding? YOU do!

So the neighbor’s new motorcycle steals your thunder? So be it. I mean, you’re riding a dirt bike. Maybe you have more in common with George than you’d thought. What an opportunity!

Your dream home is gone… well isn’t that funny, and not too dissimilar from the neighbor’s new motorcycle— a better one exists out there. Now you have the opportunity to go and find it!

Imagine if you treated your life this way. Every hurdle. Every annoyance. Every routine task.

Treat every experience as if it were the best thing that could ever happen to you, and create a great Monday!

Have a great Monday!
