Level Up

Do you ever have one of those days where you’re tired? You’re not really listening clearly? Your   brain isn’t sharp, and you’re often asking people to repeat themselves?

Well, it happens to all of us.

But it doesn’t need to, because there’s a great principle that you can apply in your life called “state change.”

A state change is when you consciously say to yourself, “Level Up.”

In other words, you choose your level of energy.

Teenagers get this.

Molly comes home exhausted after band practice and tells her parents she is too tired to do ANYTHING.

Then, the boy she was hoping would ask her to prom calls and asks her to “hang.”

She’s dressed, out the door, and suddenly finds the energy to stay out for six hours. Hmmmm.

Well, it doesn’t just happen for young people when they have the potential for a date. It is a conscious decision that you can make. So, something you may want to say around your office and in your home is “level up”—to your teammates and to yourself. So, whenever you feel the slump coming on, simply say “level up” and make a conscious decision to go “all in.”

  1. Great timing for “Level Up” Especially in these challenging days right now with Covid-19.

Changing focus helps to put a “shot in the arm” of positive thoughts and discards the sluggish, not so positive attitude.

As always, thank you for your insight!

  2. great advise. will try it out at work and let you know how it goes for me…
