Overwhelm is a Decision

Don’t you love to put a long list of things together to begin the week or at the beginning of the day, so that you can check them off as you get things done?

Yes, there’s great joy in accomplishment.

When somebody says, “I’m overwhelmed,” what they’re really telling you is, “I am not checking things off my list. I am stuck.  I am spinning.”

When you check things off your list, it gives you energy. We get joy from accomplishment.

The key is choosing which tasks to accomplish because all accomplishments aren’t created equal. You must be clear at the beginning of every day, every week, and every month, about what you truly choose to accomplish based on the highest and best use of your time.

Put it all in one place and give yourself the joy of checking off every accomplishment, one by one, based on the prioritization of impact and importance.

Stick with your top one until it is complete. Notice the checkmark gives you more energy to pursue the second priority…and so it goes.

Never want to be overwhelmed again?  Then force yourself to prioritize and never give up until a project is complete.

Check…
